I've used MyHeritage.com's program for the last twelve-ish years and I like the program and find it easier(for me) to use than Ancestry's program. I used to love MyHeritage.com because I could find matches with other trees and I even found a distant cousin this way who is also working on our tree and we shared information with each other. However in the last few years the site has made some changes which they claim were supporting the majority of the users. I suspect that if that is so than the majority don't use it for keeping large trees online. I was already using Rootsweb at the same time for my tree though I didn't like that site as much back then. MyHeritage reduced the number of people a tree can have under the free membership so they could increase the amount of videos and photo albums users can have. I do not used videos or the other added features that were added as I have no use for them. I don't mind that they were added, only that now I can't fit my tree on the site anymore when before I could since I don't have the money on hand to pay for a subscription. The next change was that matches, the new connecting trees(which I had been excited about beforehand) became and were introduced as paid member things. Lastly the site was redone which has made it very hard for me to try and find other trees and I even have to use Google to find the site's forum.
I still used Rootsweb and have a free ancestry account now. I can't do much on Ancestry without paying but I can find the things I can't have much easier than on MyHeritage.
So in conclusion, my rating for the program is 4 stars as it does have a few nice features and it's easy to use and a fairly nice free program.
My rating for the site is 2 stars. I considered giving it 1 star, but settled for 2 since it did start out as a fairly good site and the paid membership version may still be quite nice if someone wanted to pay for it.
In summary, I would not recommend My Heritage to a friend.
