Started using this because the application: Family Tree Builder was so easy to use. However, the site itself is even better to use. So I manage my trees online and my photo's in Family Tree Builder. I have, as a result, had to contact support over issues or queries regarding both. When you get a support ticket they stick with you until there is complete resolution.
By comparison to the web site the Family Tree Builder is sluggish and clumsy. Navigating the tree can be bothersome. It is not intuitive. However, in my opinion it is the best family tree application out there. I have tried some other 'big name' applications but this beats them all hands down.
Smart matching happens so fast! They are about 95% accurate matching which is really good. For me a Data Subscription makes a lot more sense then a site subscription to Premium Plus.
I do enjoy My Heritage. I would have scored five points except that their Irish records are thin on the ground. But I am really happy working away on this site and I would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone.
PRO'S: When you get a support ticket they work so hard to get the issue resolved for you. They demonstrate patience and knowledge.
CONS: (1) Not easy to get Irish Records. Defaults to US each time. Seems to treat UK and Ireland as one - a big no no. (2) Photo albums are per tree not per site which is a mega pain. You have to create albums and upload and tag photos for each tree. Doing it for your site and then accessing them from each tree would be so much simpler. (3) Support responses can take days even with Priority Support. (4) Family Tree Builder is so much weaker then the online version.
In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.
