I started my Paternal Family Tree in 2011 with My Heritage, with no knowledge on how to go about it. The My Heritage Team have always been very supportive and encouraging and shown an interest in my venture. I have not been in a financial position to purchase much in the way of data subscriptions but without exception those who have called me have shown great understanding and consideration, never giving me the feeling that I was a "lost cause".

In spite of my limited access to research, through the Smart Matches and Record Matches, and the contact with other site members who share relatives, I have found out more about my ancestors through my association with My Heritage than I ever imagined possible in my wildest dreams. One of my greatest joys was hearing from hitherto unknown relatives. The Smart Matches, though time consuming, provide a great deal of information and if dates, etc differ, by reviewing them and the consensus of the matches it is possible to confirm information.

Family Tree Builder simplifies the entry of information, as does the synchronization facility with the Family Tree. A very useful feature is the checking of duplicate entries. Overall the features of the My Heritage Program are very manageable, and I have not come across any hitches. As for the cost, genealogy is an expensive exercise and given the amount of information that has become available over the years, and the technical staff required to run such an organization, I feel it is warranted.

My life has been enriched by discovering and researching my ancestors, their achievements and their connection to the past developments and history of the world as a whole. I feel so connected to the rest of the world now that not even my wheelchair confines me!!
