Dad was a bit overwhelmed. He had six kids and a hearing problem, so adding more voices to the mix was, well, contra-indicated. Add to this that the family stretches from Alaska to Florida and all points between. The upshot of this is that his six kids don't know their relatives. No visits to aunts and uncles. No idea how fun cousins could be. They had to wait until they'd reached adulthood, and joined MyHeritage.com to find out to whom they were related and how. We now have over 700 entries, including education, family stories, dates, baptisms, unusual birth and death details, and hundreds of photos.

Great features: a central repository for information gleaned from our seldom reunions, a place to see faces then and now, reminders of important dates, a service for sending a timely greeting, easy updates, and lots of potential matches.

Features that need some work: their database isn't always the easiest to navigate, and sometimes data winds up in the most unexpected places although it was entered in the proper field. I have been using Myheritage since December 2009 and am very satisfied. Especially the Smart Match system that finds relatives and possible relatives around the globe. Sometimes the system is a little too eager to find possible matches, but they are easily disregarded.
The helpdesk has been most useful when needed.

Started using this because the application: Family Tree Builder was so easy to use. However, the site itself is even better to use. So I manage my trees online and my photo's in Family Tree Builder. I have, as a result, had to contact support over issues or queries regarding both. When you get a support ticket they stick with you until there is complete resolution.

By comparison to the web site the Family Tree Builder is sluggish and clumsy. Navigating the tree can be bothersome. It is not intuitive. However, in my opinion it is the best family tree application out there. I have tried some other 'big name' applications but this beats them all hands down.

Smart matching happens so fast! They are about 95% accurate matching which is really good. For me a Data Subscription makes a lot more sense then a site subscription to Premium Plus.

I do enjoy My Heritage. I would have scored five points except that their Irish records are thin on the ground. But I am really happy working away on this site and I would whole heartedly recommend... (Read the full review)

I am delighted with my family tree. I have been using My Heritage for several years now and I am continually amazed at who I find.....On my Dad's side of the family I can trace back to the 1500s. I am still working on my Mom's side and I find that a little more difficult.......Irish research.
I have used the support team and found that they replied quickly to my request for help and their directions were easy to follow and it worked!

MyHeritage.com is MUCH easier to use than Ancestry.com, but still has everything you need - except perhaps that there are still more North American trees on Ancestry.com, to compare with.
It is visually much-more-pleasing, easier to comprehend, with more complex abilities (if you need to add more facts, there are appropriate places to put them, without cluttering up the tree). You can add privacy settings for specific notes, and/or network and share with family members.

It's like Facebook for family trees, with all the fact-oriented features that you would want in an academic product also.

The customer-service is second to none. I've had numerous questions, because I have used this product a lot. They are quick to write back, always find a solution to my problems, and I feel that as an individual I am of great value to this company... something VERY rare in today's big-business world.
Definitely the best bang for your buck and a sound investment in preserving the past!

I have been using myHeritage for some month now to build a family tree. First I thought it would be done in a couple of days, but as things went on and while finding more and more people that are my relatives I started to really try to dig in into my ancestors life. The program My Heritage Family tree builder really helped me to get interested as it is so easy to use and above all..... it is free - so far - as I haven't reached one of the limits, that is 250 persons. I will really recommend the program to my friends and relatives. The more you find about people, the more you will need further info.

And the possibility to use the PC, iPhone and iPad simultaneously is excellent. Everything you enter in the iPad for example is synchronized immediately to the other gadgets. Everything seems to be in the Cloud - same as most relatives. ;)

If help is needed I found out that the people at the Heritage is there to help immediately, even in my own language. Helping with thorough instructions with a smile. Thank you.

I started in April this year. Now I have about 1000 individuals in my tree. Family Tree Builder is an excellent and easy to use software. There are several languages to chose and the localization is good. The yearly fees for the Premium versions are acceptable. I have contacted twice to the support and the response time is very short, in both cases my problem has been resolved in hours.

You can prevent some data to publish, so the security is quite good.

There could be more date formats to chose for displaying the data. The US way Month Day Year is just odd for the most European users.

I feel very lucky that I have found this tool to create my family tree. As my surname is a very rare one I wanted and finally I managed to put together ALL members.

I love the easy way you can work on the tree!!
I wish though that all features (incl. book report) are available as well in Greek language. (Now the input data shows in Greek but the display data is English).

The subscription follow up is not perfect. I had paid for premium and I was still receiving reminders to update to premium. Thanks to the great technical support, all was corrected with efficiency, patience and clear instructions. Thank you dear Shlomi. This is very important for me; a real technical support!!!

I have been developing the Family Tree that my parents put together, and I have been doing this for many years now. However in the last few years, things have stalled and progress has slowed. But, since joining My Heritage, matches with My Heritage records has produced quite a number of useful new leads! Good to see some fresh entries at last!

Easy to use, especially with amazing (and free) desktop application Family Tree Builder.

Good localization of the interface to several languages, quick invitation for family members without need of their registration.

Basic membership is free and the limitation is fine, if you stick to core family lineage, you can use it for years.

Premium membership is not cheap but there is a lot promotion and sales to upgrade for better value. I did it after a year of free usage.

Technical support is OK but sometimes you have to "push". Better information of your support tickets will be helpful.
