I had recently started to use Family Tree Builder, I had been using a different program to manage my files and My heritage was used for research, it was becoming increasingly awkward to maintain 2 separate systems so I decided to take the plunge with Family tree builder. I exported a GEDCOM file from my old app and uploaded it to my heritage, unfortunately it would not sync with my existing site, so I had to basically start from Scratch, this proved a bit of a nightmare as I was inundated with approximately 300K smart matches. One feature I like is the consistency checker, it is great at identifying underlying problems with your files, I had some problems I could not figure out, so I sent a note to tech support, and Laura there got back to me very quickly and she helped solve my problem. So now all is well and I just have to figure out how to handle all these smart matches in a timely fashion!!

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I am not of the computer age and I had an issue and couldn't think how to do what needed to be done. May be obvious for most but not me. Didn't think I had a chance sending an email to myheritage help and having them understand what I was trying to do let alone help AND quickly. I was wrong. I sent off an email and got a response from Laura promptly. No tech speak or me finding someone to translate the lingo. Got the issue solved and all happy again. Thanks Laura !

Originally was using a competitor's software but moved to MyHeritage once I discovered family members in other countries had already constructed branches of our family tree using this software. The ease of transferring family history information was worth the effort in the long run.

I am satisfied with my decision to change.

The Smart Matches is useful however I suggest setting your filter above the default level in order to keep the information suggestions relevant.

I do enjoy the Chart, Reports and Statistics features, particularly as I have the option of including thumbnail photos.

Technical support has been prompt and effective, so kudos to this department.

A few features I would care to see:

(a) a caption option for homepage photograph - members respond favorably to featured photos of upcoming events;

(b) mass editing option - ability to select a large number of individuals having identical information and applying editing to entire group rather than individually;

(c) blended family option - having step-children visually included other than as indirect relatives in family tree

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

As a user of MyHeritage for about 5 years I have found it the userfriendly site. It was easy to start working with - also with other members of the family. A discussion via the inbox is easy with other memmbers.

Some problems seem to be with the smart matches, although they mainly are most useful. However, there are lot time involved with wrong matches of different name or data.

After some problems of my pictures I was happily surprised with Shlomi, who understood the problem and found the solution very fast, Thank you Shlomi!

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

Very good technical support and assistance.

The working site is fantastic, easy to fill,to find and save all the data. Plus the maps, the family book etc. are very helpful.

As for the online site, the navigation is a little heavy and difficult to follow the ancestors of a branch. Sometimes the smart matches are annoying.

I want to thank MyHeritage for fast and effective response, for courteous and useful help and for letting me continue my father legacy. My father started the family tree in order for us to see our history and how far and big the family has spread. MyHeritage team allowed me to continue his work after he passed away. They responded in a timely manner, with curtsy and understanding the situation. They explained in details what I need to do and how to progress. As I was conversing with them, I understood, that any question or task, will be answered no matter how small and certainly when it was a bigger issue. I sensed that they take their work seriously and want to improve and add to their databases as well as site functionality. I had very good experience and recommend using the site for creating and keeping your family history.

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I have been a user of My Heritage Family Tree Builder for almost six years. Being new to genealogy production - and having very limited time for my project - I found it incredibly useful. It is very user friendly and very intuitive. It was very easy to start working with and to produce all sort of reports and tress - and it is free!

The link with the My Heritage site is simple and a plus, especially since new tools were added, like the possibility to search huge databases of birth and immigration records. You even get feeds for matches the software finds for you in these databases. In my case, I was informed of the imigration documents of a few relatives that emigrated to Brasil, but I must admit that at EUR7,49 per record I find it a bit expensive and will only use for really key persons in my tree.

The "smart matches" tool is also most useful, as it will alert you of possible matches between your tree and ohers in My Heritage, still protecting the confidentiality of your data if you so wish. I have found My Heritage extremely user friendly , however on a couple of occasions I was stumped with a problem I could not sort myself & sent out a "help" via email. All queries were solved & I was extremely impressed on how easy the help answers were to understand & how thorough they were.

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I have been a user of My Heritage for approx 3 years now and have found it the most user friendly site. I have come in contact with so many people researching the same family tree and swapping information has become invaluable to me. I never knew much about my family before I started and I now have over 16,000 family/extended family members on my tree.

I have of course come to some dead ends, mainly the Scottish side where records to seem to have come to a stop and also with the Swedish side of the family. Very hard to research the Swedish sites as language is the barrier and some names, when they have migrated, had become anglicized.

I would thoroughly recommend this site (and I have done) a work mate is now also using this site with great success.

I recently had a technical issue and the problem was resolved within 24hrs.

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I had reason to use the Support team for My heritage in the last couple of days. I was absolutely happy with the Team. They replied promptly and gave me the info I needd. It was a mistake of my own making. Not a fault of the My Heritage website. Many Thanks! ! Jude Mc
