Started with the free version first, good place to learn the ropes but frustrating when searching for results. You feel like you are being forced onto the premium site.
I think it would be a better idea to charge one fee for subscription plus data as a package. Having said that I have enjoyed using My Heritage & all it has to offer & believe it is good value for your money. Have to compete with the wife for search time but getting some good results.

With the latest version of My Heritage I found there were gaps in the numbering of my people.
I emailed for help. Dean gave me clear steps which allowed me to go deeper into the program than I would ever have tried. The solution was pain free if you had the guidance of an expert. I did. My Heritage's ability to produce from an individual's perspective, a detailed book is extremely valuable to me & those wishing to individualise their ancestry. The staff are knowledgeable & no request seems to faze them.

I find the program easier to use than any other I have seen.

I have been using myheritage.com family tree for a few years and have tried several others but find this is by far the easiest to use. I can also tell you that their support if you have a question or problem using the software is excellent.

I am a grown adopted person who recently learned that a member of my birth family was compiling a family tree using MyHeritage. Unfortunately, my permission was not obtained to use my birth name (those records often become sealed once an adoption in finalized), and I had need to contact their support staff to see if this information could be removed.

First, MyHeritage responded in less than 24 hours after my initial inquiry to them. The staff member that assisted me, Shlomi, was very kind and gave me very clear definitive steps to take to ensure all the information needed to assist me could be taken quickly and efficiently.

Within 7 days, my information was removed and my sense of privacy restored. This was done with compassion regarding the situation as well. I was never treated like "case number 764" or anything less than what I am, a human being.

If I ever have need to use a family tree site, MyHeritage wins my business, hands down. Thank you again for the prompt and wonderful support!

Excellent how the people on the helpdesk (Noa) help you within one day.
I had a computer crash, bought and installed a new one. Because of a little
mistake I didn't get a back-up in October and November. Without asking Noa
made a backup on the day that he answered my mail.
In Holland we say : petje af !! (Take your hat off)

I did not utilize the service to it's fullest but what I did encounter was an excellent base for beginning a search of family surnames. Mine is not the most common in the world but the data they came up with on my first search jibed perfectly with what I knew to be true of my family surname. This seems to be as good a place to start as any other site but be certain that you want to utilize the service before you input any credit card information because they will charge your card before your "free trial" ends! Keep all your receipts and e-mails exchanged with this site in an easily accessible place in case you want to back out before your free trial ends... it could become problematic however with persistence and patience you will prevail.

I have always had trouble remembering my family ties and distance relatives and as the family got older those who could remember passed away. I made a promise to myself to research my family tree and put 'pen to paper' in an electronic way. Finding the My Heritage program and site has probably been the best free program I have ever found on the Internet. I am still on the free version with 219 relatives in the tree and have now got a link to 8 generations of the family.

If you are looking to start then there is ONLY ONE program to chose and this is it.

My wife's family who are Polish are on the tree and can even see details in Polish.

I started our family tree for my daughter when my wife was expecting, now that my daughter is a 1st. grader it came very handy when she had the family tree homework assignment, we impressed the whole class. Not only because of all the 6 generations of family data collected but also because of the ease of organizing, adding data, adding pictures and actually printing the family tree with all data including pictures. This is an amazing program and would recommend it to all families. It's a great way to get all the family involved specially when the kids see where their roots, heritage and history comes from. My daughter started to get involved in interviewing and collecting data when she was 4 and thus was able to make a great presentation at school 2 years later, there's no age limit to put your family tree together, get your kids involved, you would love it and they would love it. Thanks for such great product.

I manually commenced my family tree project some years ago and essentially gave it up as being too difficult and time-consuming. Since joining MyHeritage.com, my interest has been revived, the project has generated quite a bit of interest amongst relatives, and I am now nearing completion, apart from locating some "missing" cousins in Australia and proving beyond doubt who fathered my paternal great grandfather.

In the process, I have found two US second cousins and a third cousin in France.

Support from the friendly people at MyHeritage.com has been excellent.

My only concern is with research, where the MyHeritage.com computers are well wide of the mark in identifying possible matches, following my own location of two second cousins, when seeking more information on my father's uncle in California.

I am on both MyHeritage and Ancestry using both. I have found MyHeritage to have provided me with more information on my ancestors with constant matches. I have found living cousins world wide who have provided me with information and photos I would never have found without this source.

The newspaper collection and graves and photos are worth using the site.

I am very satisfied and would choose MyHeritage again.
