I didn't know about Find a Grave until someone told me that my son's grave had been posted on it. Later, I found my mom and dad's grave too. I forced (in one case) the contributors to turn them over to me to protect the information, I had asked that info be removed from my dad's site and they refused. NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO POST GRAVES OF NON FAMILY MEMBERS WITHOUT THE FAMILY'S PERMISSION. I have had to sponsor those memorials to get a modicum of control and it is my view that if I have paid to do that, I should have complete control over the sites, including being able to delete posts made.
Find A Grave should be out of business.
In summary, I would not recommend Find A Grave to a friend.
