MyHeritage.com is MUCH easier to use than Ancestry.com, but still has everything you need - except perhaps that there are still more North American trees on Ancestry.com, to compare with.
It is visually much-more-pleasing, easier to comprehend, with more complex abilities (if you need to add more facts, there are appropriate places to put them, without cluttering up the tree). You can add privacy settings for specific notes, and/or network and share with family members.
It's like Facebook for family trees, with all the fact-oriented features that you would want in an academic product also.
The customer-service is second to none. I've had numerous questions, because I have used this product a lot. They are quick to write back, always find a solution to my problems, and I feel that as an individual I am of great value to this company... something VERY rare in today's big-business world.
Definitely the best bang for your buck and a sound investment in preserving the past!
I have two subscriptions - to Ancestry.com and MyHeritage.com. I do all my work on MyHeritage and supplement my research with Ancestry.com (mainly to look through other people's trees who may not be on MyHeritage too).
I absolutely LOVE MyHeritage! It is so flexible, so pretty to look at (Ancestry is rather dull), so easy to follow, and you feel like you are creating a masterpiece on the program (there are so many places to add photos as well as video). There are also so many places to pocket-away facts and information, without cluttering things up. You can print your program out in a well-structured book format, with the click of a button, for Christmas presents, etc.. - and it is so easy to personalize that book to any individual on the tree (again, with the click of a button).
Definitely far-and-away a fantastic program and company. I would highly recommend it to anyone and will always use it for my family tree!
In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.
