I was on the look out for a family tree builder and my search ended after I found the MyHeritage. This application was easy to find, and easier to install.
The good:
1. Very good and easy to understand User Interface. There is also a simple wizard for creating a family, which would certainly help a new user to get started.
2. The tool has an excellent database, covering pretty much every aspect of an individual. This includes simple details like Sur Names, Maiden names all the way to Military Ranks, Titles and important facts about an individual. The tool also allows to tag photographs of each individual.
3. This tool has multiple options to generate family trees & charts.
The 'not so good':
1. The Tool requires the user to register at the MyHeritage Portal. The registration is free, and should not take more than a couple of minutes. I have also NOT seen any spam mails coming in after the registration.
2. Each time the software is opened, it tries to open the MyHeritage web site. This may be a minor irritant. My PC is connected to the internet 24/7, but I don't know what would happen if the PC is not connected to the internet.
Overall feedback:
This is really a good tool, and I would strongly recommend this to be tried out. Most likely you would fall in love with the tool and continue too use it.
In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.
