First: There are no bad points. I spoke to DANA on the phone and she probably could hear HOW HAPPY I WAS, HAVING RECEIVED MY RESULT RECENTLY.
Well, let me start
1. There was always a family secret ( I had the feeling) about Jewish relatives. My dutch grandmothers maiden name is HIMMELREICH , which is a typical Jewish name. My great uncle ( mothers uncle, grandmothers brother) was a dutch priest and in concentration camp in DACHAU near MUNICH. He died of medical experiments they did on him. IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED I AM 5,7 % ASHKENAZI JEWISH . I feel so happy about that ! Not only because the secret has been lifted, but Jewish people are in our world for thousand of years, and I am part of it, may I say YEAH !!!! Our niece has been diagnosed with lactose intolerant. Looking up about ASHKENAZI JEWISH I could read , that many of them carry a gene, which makes them lactose intolerant. Maybe it shows again in our niece.
If only politicians from 1933 to the end of the 2nd world war would have done a DNA on all the people,if they would have been intelligent, they had found that there is no such thing as PURITY!! With this knowledge maybe the world would have looked different !
2. When the first humans left Africa and populated the world, its fantastic to know that part of MY ME is INDIGENOUS AMAZONIAN, OCEANIA and PAPUAN ( we joked about this in my family. Our nephew, a big boy of 46 years, said to me," you only come well fed to us " me : " yes, before I come I eat Patrick, my husband , your uncle".
3. Being 11,5 Italian friends and family say, this is where you got your temperament from, si si !
4. I love Scandinavian countries and I also love Russia. Now, that I know that MY ME has ancestors from there, could it be that our genes also carry " love, longing for a country etc " in it. Why do I like these countries ? I have not been to Russia, but I have a kind of longing and feel as if it is like home ? As I always say, my home is where my beloved husband Patrick is., it can be everywhere.I can`t really say what home is. When we lived in the UK it was my home. In HAMBURG ( NORTH GERMANY) , I was brought up and have wonderful memories about my childhood, teenager years ( rebel years !!!)going to college, being independent after all). And now back to HAMBURG !!! From time to time I do memory lane with Patrick and I can tell him about many , many funny things which happened to me. We always have a good laugh. Hamburg is my home too, we love it. Do not worry, Patrick turned 70 in January and I turn 70 In January 2018. We do not live in past, although we live in Hamburg. The future still lies ahead !!! And we will explore many other things.
Patrick and I love to get to know people from other countries, other cultures,we are interested in people. We have always been open. Now that I know about my DNA results, I feel more being part of our world. In Germany is a saying : Patrick and I are able to look over the rim of a plate . Many people stay within it and are afraid of getting to know other people or they really don`t want it . Well,its every ones decision. We ( Patrick and I) are a little more inquisitive than other people, which makes our life more colourful.
Thank you for having made it possible for people like you and me to do a DNA TEST. One last words : I feel complete, I feel whole !
