I was disappointed to find that I was providing the site with more information than they were providing to me.
During the whole process of 'researching' I was inundated with how I could access more features for more money.
However, in the end I decided that it didn't provide me with the necessary information on my family tree and
stopped using the site. At the end of my free trial period I discovered that I had made an automatic payment for a monthly subscription. There was no: "You are about to sign up for a subscription, do you wish to proceed or please confirm ...etc" I tried to cancel and get a refund but immediately discovered a mine field of small print and pages of stuff obviously written by lawyers to put off people like me. I 'chatted' to the machine and eventually to a person and found that he ignored requests for a refund and only gave corporate policy answers.
It's a money making trap.
In summary, I would not recommend Ancestry.co.uk to a friend.
