I had no luck finding people I was looking for with Find My Past, and feeling suspicious I began doing searches by typing in details of other people from census records I already had found on Ancestry. The search still turned up nothing. One to avoid I'd say.

In summary, I would not recommend FindMyPast.com to a friend.

Subscribed to 1911 census site. What a waste of money !

Most of the people in my family tree who I wanted to search
on the 1911 census, all lived in the Midlands area - e.g. Warwicksire/Birmingham/Solihull, etc. After Find My Past took my money, I tried to search many relatives and came up with "no trace" on every one of them - tried 11 in total.

I immediately asked Find My Past for a refund - this they refused saying that I wasn't searching properly. I told them that after 3 years of genealogy and membership of Genes Reunited, I was perfectly capable of searching properly. I also gave them 11 names which were not traceable on their site but, thanks to a friend, all 11 show up on the Genes Reunited 1911 site - several of these have unusual names/surnames and should be easily traceable on a 1911 site.

Once again, I have asked for a refund so that I can become a Platinum member of Genes Reunited.
