Have a try printing off your tree it's impractical and even for a small tree can be impossible!
you pay to view images and transfer them to your keepsafe from where after a short period of time you have to pay to view them again!

Matches found in records and/or trees are very poorly vetted resulting in poor leads!
Genes Reunited is very easy to join/register which is the only strongpoint of the site, taking your money!

In summary, I would not recommend Genes Reunited to a friend.

Based on a new user with none to little experience (even the experienced - once bitten twice shy).

2.I sent a complaint on a raft of issues and the following is all I received (on printing) which did not even address the printing complaint (woffle); "If you find that the image you print from the site is unreadable or the text too small we would suggest that you save the image to your desktop and print it out directly from your PC.

On the image viewing screen instead of clicking 'print', please select the 'download' option. Your file will save as a JPEG. You can then open it up and print it offline." Even this is bad showing that the site does not function properly.

3. Printing is atrocious.
a. Does not print the whole of what is displayed on the screen.
b. Only prints very small sections of a tree. It cannot be condensed so when printed off its 'cut and paste'.

4. It appears that other than the basic records that are open to all sites (INCLUDING THE FREE SITES)are more or less all you will get. You are encouraged by Genes Reunited... (Read the full review)

In the early days of this site I used to like it a lot and found that there were a number of people using the site who had the same ancestors in common.

I still use this site but am now wary of giving people access to my tree as I have found that some people take every name from my tree and add it to their own - without doing any research of their own or verifying that facts are correct.

Regular messages are sent giving 'hot matches' but when I look into them they're often wrong - they may have a name in common but the birthplace and date are different.

It's a useful site and cheap but it does have its drawbacks

What happened to the free messages we used to get. I keep getting emails saying someone might be my relative that has the same names in their tree. When i try and send a message to see if they are it keeps saying i have to join and pay x pounds. I found my cousin after 40 yrs with the free messages. so now i just delete the emails because message says its not sent. Not happy about this.

In summary, I would recommend Genes Reunited to a friend.
