I am on both MyHeritage and Ancestry using both. I have found MyHeritage to have provided me with more information on my ancestors with constant matches. I have found living cousins world wide who have provided me with information and photos I would never have found without this source.

The newspaper collection and graves and photos are worth using the site.

I am very satisfied and would choose MyHeritage again.

My interest in family genealogy was slow and sometimes stagnant for many years until I found My Heritage. My Heritage made the process simple and fun. Since My Heritage, my family tree has grown from 500 to over 3000. It has been relatively easy and painless. At times family genealogy can be tedious and slow. I have learned that it is only a matter of time and someone in the large number of membership in the My Heritage family will find the ancestor you are looking for. I have tried other sites and ultimately fall back to the one site that has provided me with the most information available for the most reasonable cost. Every site has slightly different features, however, My Heritage most definitely has the most features in one place than any site that I have found or used. When issues arose, My Heritage customer service came to the rescue and they were solved immediately, no questions asked. I can easily say that because of My Heritage, I have been steadfast in my continued work and research in my family history. For this, I and family thank you.

I switched from a PC to a Mac and was unable to edit with Family Tree after I published. I contacted customer service and within in minutes I was able to edit and add to my work.

Looking at the huge differences of opinions, one may expect a very controversial product, which is quite far from reality.

Myheritage is one of the leading genealogy sites (at least in Europe and Israel) and thus they have quite a huge of things on stock to offer.
I agree that they are not very cheap, but if you look for a cheap product to draw your family tree, then take a big sheet of paper and a pencil, but don't expect it to be interactive.

Once you pay, their service is very quick, good and efficient.
We have a humungous family tree with over 26000 people and over 100 users (not all of them active) and having a basic account is clearly not enough.
I am more than satisfied with the service they provide.

This website is designed to milk as much of your hard earned cash as possible from the additional add on charges and auto renewals that everyone has complained about in previous reviews. For safety reasons login to your account and disable the auto renewal which they fix as standard so they can raid your bank account a year after you have forgotten about it.

If for any bizarre reason you wish to renew with my heritage.com then be aware that if you do not look like you are going to renew they will offer you 20% by email to entice you to re join for another year. If you still do not renew they will track your visits to the website and literally as you are on the site they will ring you to offer you a 50% special renewal rate. Warning though - it is done through a promotional code and unless you follow the instructions fully they will scam you for the full amount no matter what they have offered.

I really enjoyed using the basic my heratage pkg.... I filled up the allotted space very quickly and needed access to more info so I joined the premium pkg... I had all these smart matches which gave me no new I formation and were very confusing. I also fryer to use the search and it would take forever and then also give me no results.... I did not get as much time as I would have liked to spend using the premium pkg cuz the computer crashed but I don't think the money part was worth it for the price. I saw that they did automatically charge us for the next years plan even though they said they would not when I signed up but I just contacted them through email an got an immediate response. They down graded my site for me and were very helpful. Overal it's a good place to organize a few family history documents and I liked the bright happy colors of the site.... Would only reccomen it to a friend in those regards.

I joined My Heritage to allow my family tree to be accessible to researchers without having to join something. My tree is large so I was/AM a premium member. "My Heritage" auto renewed my account WITHOUT my permission. There is absolutely no phone number to contact them to dispute the charge of $119. They offer email contact however no one responses to emails.

I cannot dispute the charge until it moves from pending to posted. And I seriously doubt it can be disputed then because the phone number on file with the pending order is a shopper support line phone number. Even the shopper support billing service does not have a phone number for My Heritage.

PLEASE BE SMART AND AVOID JOINING "My Heritage". Go to Ancestry

In summary, I would not recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I signed up for a 7 day free trial for MyHeritage.com. My husband happened to be looking at our credit card statement at the time and saw that 3 pending charges appeared for "PLI*MyHeritage". The "PLI" stands for PLIMUS, a third party vendor located in ISRAEL. I went to MyHeritage.com and posted a dispute requesting an immediate cancellation and received a Do-Not-Reply email that said they would contact us. NO CONTACT from ISRAEL. I then called MyHeritage.com and requested an immediate cancellation. I was told that they would have to refer me to their DISPUTE DEPARTMENT located in ISRAEL and that they did not have a telephone number. I then called my credit card company and created a dispute and they have blocked the SCAM website from billing us again. STAY FAR AWAY FROM "MYHERITAGE.COM"!!!!!!!!!! I repeat----STAY FAR AWAY FROM "MYHERITAGE.COM"!!!!!!!!!! It is my firm opinion that they are a SCAM website!!!!

I joined just a week ago having first experimented with Family Tree Builder. In a fit of enthusiasm I spent £125 for Premium Plus Membership.

None of my invited co-Site Managers has been able to input a thing. I have up-loaded a GEDCOM file, but that has made no difference. The information actually shown on their web site Family Tree is sparse to say the least, nothing like as comprehensive as on Family Tree Builder. Every one of their advertised Reference Services I have tried to go to wants more money off me; none seem to be actually included in the Membership Fee.

I had absolutely no response from their Technical Support people having spent considerable time trying to find out how to contact them. I conservatively estimate that, in the week since I paid for MyAncestry I have wasted at least 8 hours getting nowhere with them or their web site.

In sheer frustration I e-mailed their Customer Services to cancel my Membership and asked for a refund. Six hours later they still haven't contacted me. This must be the worst on-line business with which I have ever had dealings! Can't even find out where their business is based!

In summary, I would not recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I started web site on Myheritage.com in Feb2010. the account shows unlimited expiry and adequate space for members to be added and photos. Now i find that without notice the web site has been deactivated with message no storage space and i am not able to see the tree i had created taking a lot of pains. Its cheating on part of Myheritage.com
