"I would like to give my testimony  how efficient is the My Heritage system. It has been for me a lot more than an instrument of organizing a genealogy tree. Instead it has provided me better ways of making research and to illustrate the history of my family quite well. I'm right now including old pictures of my ancestors into the system and this makes the task much more interesting and valuable."

I have used GENI for many years and was quite dissapointed when it comes to feature/benefits and response on technical issues. Since a couple of years I´ve changed to My Heritage and from day 1 I was overwhelmed of the ease of use structure and the logical way you work.
That doesn't mean of course that I do'nt have wishes for the future, among them are (no 1) a new and 100% safe way of continously merging new datas to the tree (new Gedcom exports) which can be filtered in a way so no double entries will stay behind.
(No 2) is different types of ancestrybooks and not only the one today existing (which is far to complex)
(No 3) is more help files for My Heritage as such and not only for Family Tree Builder as it is today.
But overallö I can gladly recommend My Heritage and I am confident that the My Heritage team will do its outmost to please me more in the future.

I just discovered My Heritage this year(2012) & love having the access to a whole new group of researchers! I was also able to quickly & easily create a gedcom that I was able to send to familyfinderDNA. And, when I had a question, the support team was quick to solve my problem. I have already made many, many matches with distant cousins! Thank You My Heritage!!

If you like putting out good money to subscribe to what sounds good but isn't, this is the product for you. You will find you have to put out more good money in order that all its its features will work, If you like this sort of a product, then this is the product for you.

Perhaps you will find this product useful. I find it disorganized, a bewildering tour through old, user contributed information that is, at best, only somewhat reliable. There are no primary record dtabases as the advertising indicated.

If you are thinking of subscribing to it, don't. I wish I had put my money to more effective use.

I would not recommend it, beginner or advanced.

I joined the free version of MyHeritage to work on a school project for my daughter. I loved the user interface and the free version of 250 names. But I quickly ate through those, so I joined the Premium version. I love the matches found to make it easier for me to verify distant relatives and connect with unknown family members. I really love the family tree that can be printed (we used it for our school project) and the options to order a family tree that is worth hanging on the wall.

I let my subscription lapse accidentally and because of finances was unable to renew immediately. I was concerned I would lose all the hard work put into my tree. I contacted MyHeritage to request they just freeze my account but keep the data until I could renew my subscription.

They responded quickly with a surprise for me! They offered to extend my subscription for 2 months to help me get over my financial hump and enable me to renew then. I was bowled over by this offer. I shared my experience with all my family and friends on my Facebook page.

I enjoy MyHeritage, and have definitely recommended them.

After mom died, our large family looked for a way to preserve the cache of 7000+ pictures from my mother's house. Our archivist, PricelessPhotoPreservation.com, recommended MyHeritage, and we're very happy with the results. I've been posting the photographs, and my brothers and sisters are tagging and commenting on them. It's great family fun ... remember women's hair from 1969? Or 1948 when dad actually had hair?

Your photographs are preserved at the same resolution you upload them at, up to 5000x5000 pixels, but are organized as thumbnails for fast browsing. The full resolution picture can be downloaded simply and spontaniously. I could probably just tell the kids which picture made me smile, but it's easy to attach it to an email for instant gratification.

The site has a tagging feature that is uncanny. It has correctly identified picutures of me spanning 60 years ... how does it do that!!

Customer support is also good, I've asked questions and actually received answers! If that isn't surprising enough, the responses were prompt and helpful.

We plan on continuing this relationship with MyHeritage indefinately so we purchased 5 years of the Premium Package with unlimited storage and received a nice discount.

In summary, I would recommend My Heritage to a friend.

I have been using MyHeritage for about 5 years. Initially I started with their free software, but soon discovered what their premium plus membership could do for me to improve what I was trying to achieve. While the free software was great, I have found that through my membership I am able to get more information, not only from MyHeritage but from other members worldwide.

My Heritage has initiated a new feature which allows me to find such things as social security information, newspaper articles or obituaries, grave sites (many with photos of the headstones), birth or death records, etc.

When I do have a problem I know that I can count on their support team to help me out. Their support team has never let me down.

They are constantly improving their program and the features they offer.
Through their improvements I have managed to locate, and in many cases communicate with, current family members, as well as family members that are distantly related.

While I have found numerous advantages for using this program, I cannot honestly think of any cons to report.

On the negative side...I contacted the company over a year ago to cancel my account when I realized that it had automatically renewed. They would NOT refund my subscription fee because it was over 30 days since the account renewed. I wasn't happy but requested the representative to notate on my account that it was NEVER to renew again! The rep promised me that the account was set to close after that year and would NOT renew again!

However, I happened to go on to my account today only to discover that, not only had the account renewed (23 Oct 2012) BUT, it had renewed this time for THREE years!!!! I am furious!!! And, there is no place on the site where I can cancel my credit card so they cannot use it again!

I have only been on the site FIVE times (today being #5), according to their own website count. And, I wouldn't have gone on today accept for a fluck...glad I did! I want nothing to do with them!

On the positive side...it is EXTREMELY easy to sign UP for an account...just forget about trying to get rid of it.

It is very easy to join Heritage.com When I joined again and paid to do so becasue they said I had too many family names.

I thought. Ok. Even though their members get all the family names I researched
in the Swedish Church/Parish records.

So I paid to join. And now they want more money so I can see newspaper articles that I have seen for the most part on Ancestry.com

I'm so annoyed that I paid to rejoin and got very little for my money.
If you are new to gathering information this might be an ok site.
I would say save your money.

Ancestry.com lets you see the documents you need without paying extra money.

I had a technaical problem with Myheritage and I dropped a note to the support, it was on Sunday and I was very surprised to receive an answer just few minute later and again I asked for more support and i got all the information that I needed and they solved all my issues and was on SUNDAY!, this is simple great!!!
