Autorenewed a canceled account, no refund

I canceled my account. They renewed it anyway, without warning, for $119, and claim their records say I only canceled the "premium account," but not the "data account." I complained the same day, but they say their policy is no refunds, ever, unless you plead poverty, then they will give 45% of your money back. So if you're homeless and starving they only take $77 for nothing.

In summary, I would not recommend My Heritage to a friend.

Family History made easy.

Hi Everyone,

I've been doing family history for some years know and recently I have looked at three online services. At home I use Ancestral Quest 14 and I use it in conjunction with MyHeritage exporting & importing using the gedcom format.

I rate MyHeritage over Ancestry.com and Find My Past for the following reasons:
1. Ease of use.
2. Excellent and speedy support.
3. Hints & new discoveries.
4. Editing records including attaching source information.
5. Ability to manage my family tree members settings for privacy.

Excellent customer service

I've been on My Heritage for a number of years. I didn't really know what I was doing when I set up the family trees, and ended up with 3 websites and 3 family trees, at least two of which were mostly duplicate profiles.

I recently discovered that my updates were not syncing to the sites, which was unfortunate since there had been a number of recent deaths in my family, and family members were getting cheery birthday and anniversary reminders for people who had died. Try as I might, I couldn't manage to update the files. In fact, I seemed to add sites every time I tried to consolidate them, and it just kept getting messier. I even upgraded to premium in order to be able to call customer service, but for some reason the customer service number of (877) 432-3135 can no longer be reached from Canada.

Today, Shimon from the Tel Aviv customer service centre called me and helped me to fix all the problems. Overall, we likely spent 90 minutes or more on the telephone, and he helped me to understand the difference between "projects" on Family Tree Builder and "family... (Read the full review)

Cant Complain About Service

This is the first time I have rung Myheritage to ask a question. The professional attitude and easy manner in which Shimon helped me with my Inquiry was outstanding. My experience with the family tree program has been exceptional also. If all staff are as knowledgeable and friendly as Shimon I will recommend them to any one.

Help desk phone service

I will comment solely about the help desk service of MyHeritage.com.

In the past the only way to get info from them was to post a letter on one of their forums and sometime later, perhaps, someone might make a comment. If you were lucky it was s a staff member. Only recently I discovered they have have a phone-in help desk. I used it today and got lots of assistance from Sharon, originally from Holland. She gave me detailed explanations about how to use the Family Tree Builder, how to eliminate duplicates that showed up in the trees, how to import and synchronize data, and some other tips. She really knew the area I was inquiring about.

This is a great improvement. Now that I am aware of its existence I will use it when I need assistance in the future.

Terrible customer service!

I have tried every day to reach customer service to have them cancel my subscription. I am unable to get a response. They charged my credit card on the day after the free trial period. I did not even realize that I had finalized my free trail. My card was charged and now I cannot reach them at all. Do not sign up with this company, the customer service is terrible. They are quick to take your money, and then no response.

An excellent Piece of software for technosavvy and initiates

Have been using MyHeritage for nearly 6 years. Built a comprehensive family history with minimal trouble. Has a great feature which compiles a printable album from the information on file. This allows one to hand it down the generations without fear that the file storage will be replaced by another technology.

Have lately had my first problems with the Family Tree Builder which seem to be due to the transition from Windows 8 to 10. These could not be solved by the very helpful support personnel but since I in any case work in the cloud, have just continued on the myheritage site which has all the facilities of the FTB.

Incorrect copying from one tree to another.

While copying records from one tree to another I inadvertently left out a succession line.
I could not work out how to add it without deleting all the records above.

I used the MyHeritage on-line help and got a reply very quickly - even though there is a significant time difference with me being in New Zealand.

I still could not follow the instructions so requested more information.

I received a phone call and was guided through step by step to a successful conclusion.

This 20 odd minute call was very well received and the directions were easy to follow. This is REAL tech help.
I am very pleased with the support being provided.

I had issues with some of the site features and emailed Myheritage. They responded in a timely matter and followed up with a phone call to make sure the problems were resolved. I appreciated the call and was happy the issue was resolved. I would recommend Myheritage site to anyone doing genealogy work.

Family tree corrections

Sharon,
He helped me smoothly with some issues I had.
Within a few minutes correction was made.
Back office is very important. I am through
with RFQ (Frequently Asked Question).
I want a person to talk to. Yes!!
Create jobs that "end users" need.
Sharon, you rock!!.

Recommendation for development.
More marketing in Singapore, Malaysia, India and Sri Lanka.
There a lot of stories and families to hook up.
